The first edition of the Alumni Magazine was published in July 1906, then called the Quarterly Magazine and the subscription price was one dollar. It contained several poems, a thank you to the Kennedy Todd’s for allowing the use of their Innes Arden Cottage on Sound Beach, CT for the School of Nursing. All members of the Association could apply for two weeks each at the rate of four dollars per week.
Two other articles, submitted by Alumnae concerned "Sketches from the Children's Ward" and, "The Visiting Nurse Service at Presbyterian Hospital and sample questions from the 1906 Final Examinations".
The Alumnae Fair was a yearly affair by this time as a money-raising event for the Association. The editors characterized the purpose of the Fair thusly: “We are not working for our present needs, for while our Society is young and vigorous and its members are all healthy and well, they do not need aid. We must be wise and while we are vigorous, lay by something for the time which is surely coming, when a need will be felt. Would not a quiet little home in the country, where our members could go for a much-needed rest, be a fine thing for our Society to own".
For over 100 years, history of our Associaton has been written and recorded; we are in the process of digitizing this history so that it will not be lost.
Today we publish an annual Alumni Magazine that carries reunion news, pictures, awardee biographies, the year's necrology list and class news.
Two interim Newsletters are sent in the Fall and Spring to supplement this Magazine. You may see the past several years of publications as they are found on this website. For privacy reasons, no class news will be put up on the web and hence, the Internet.
